A Brush with Kindness program would not be possible without the generosity of local donors and volunteers who believe in our mission.

About a Brush with Kindness

A Brush with Kindness is an exterior preservation program that helps low-income homeowners impacted by age, disability and family circumstances, who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes, to reclaim their homes with pride and dignity. We partner with communities in Calhoun and Cleburne counties to help them improve a place they can call home.

Some of our home repair work includes exterior painting, landscaping, building wheelchair ramps, weatherization and other minor repair services to preserve home exteriors and revitalize neighborhoods.

Why it matters

A Brush with Kindness ensures that families live in safe and well-maintained homes. The program is designed to revitalize the appearance of the neighborhood, encourage connections within the community, and most importantly, help preserve affordable housing stock.

How we do it

We select partner families based on need, income, and a willingness to partner. We utilize volunteer labor and donated materials to ensure that the minor exterior services completed are done so at no cost to the family. We also partner with churches and other community agencies to build strong relationships to better serve families in our area.

This program is available to non-Habitat homeowners who live in Calhoun and Cleburne counties.

We are not accepting applications at this time.
